Dark Triad, Impulsiveness and Honesty-Humility in the Prisoner’s Dilemma Game: The Moderating Role of Gender

(1) Background: The aim of the study was to investigate if Dark Triad (DT)—which includes psychopathy, Machiavellianism and narcissism—impulsiveness Honesty-Humility (HH), can predict individuals’ intended behavior in a one-shot Prisoner’s Dilemma Game (PDG) whether this relationship is moderated by gender. (2) Methods: A cross-sectional correlational design used, examining regression moderation models. total sample 197 working adults from Greece (64% women, Mage = 35.13 years old) completed one-shot, simulated PDG, Dirty Dozen scale, Barratt Impulsiveness Scale subscale HEXACO NEO-PI. (3) Results: Significant correlations between overall DT score, narcissism psychopathy scores impulsiveness all three traits, as well score honesty-humility, were identified. Overall found increase odds defecting, while gender significantly effects Machiavellianism, HH on participants’ one shot leading different for men women. (4) Conclusions: Gender moderates certain personality traits social situations involving interdependence and/or moral decision making, such changes both terms statistical significance direction effect.
